Product Description KY-040 Rotary Encoder Module 15×16.5 mm with Knob Overview: This is a low-cost quadrature encoder mounted on a circuit board with accessible pins for breadboarding or attaching wires. The encoder outputs pulses on two pins for direction and counts. An aluminum knob cap measuring 5mm (0.59in) and height 16.5mm (0.65in) plugs onto the encoder’s shaft. This device was added to Parallax inventory as a demonstration part for the P2 Quick Byte code example Quadrature Encoder Object. It may be used with all microcontrollers sold by Parallax.
