Product Description Pixy2 CMUcam Overview: This is Parallax’s custom Pixy2 Kit, which includes hardware and wires for convenient connection to our Propeller ActivityBot 360° and Shield-Bot for Arduino. Our kit is the standard Pixy2 (with the ribbon cable for Arduino) but also includes male/female wires for non-Arduino applications, and mounting hardware for the Parallax small robot aluminum chassis. The Pixy2 is the most recent vision system built upon the well-known CMUCam. Pixy2 is smaller, faster, and far easier to use than all previous models. The Pixy2 can detect lines and uniquely colored objects along with their location, size and number. The process is simple: develop your “environment” and train the Pixy2 on the objects you’d like to detect using the PixyMon software for Mac or Windows. Next, run any of the three Parallax demonstration programs written in BlocklyProp, C and Spin (available below; all for the Propeller 1) or use the Arduino library from the Pixy2 Documentation Wiki. Finally, adapt our code examples to your robotic project to identify, track or pick up objects of different colors. The Pixy2 is Parallax’s preferred vision system.
